Why Do
Your Pictures Look So... Different?
We've hung out with and learned from some
of the most amazing photographers from all around the country. We're
not the first ones to do this kind of work, just the first ones
around here! From the feedback we're getting, you're as excited
about it as we are.
Okay, so now maybe you're curious about what you should
expect.
We typically start the process by having potential clients
come by the studio for a complimentary consultation. This gives us
a chance to meet and gives you a chance to see our studio, products
and to ask any questions you might have. This normally runs about
30-45 minutes.
If you decide that we’re the right studio for you, we’ll
coordinate our calendars and schedule your session. Your session fee
is due at that time.
The day of your
session, we'll have a great time. Depending on your needs
we will spend anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours in the studio, on
location or maybe even wandering the back streets of Fredericksburg.
We suggest a couple of outfits (some have brought a trunkload...
and Sean will even help carry it all in) and we'll prioritize
from there. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not
have it. This is supposed to be about you, so be sure to bring anything
that fits the description. We've had cool restored cars, four wheelers,
guitars, video cameras, sports gear... you get the idea. Your job
is to be you. Ours is to make you feel comfortable and capture those
images.
A couple of weeks later we'll have you back to the
studio for your Slideshow Premiere. Here, you'll see the select images
from your session and will place your order. We ask that anyone involved
in the decision making process be present (and anyone who's not,
well, not be...) This can take as little as 45 minutes or as
long as 2 hours. We do have an area for younger children (or ones
who act like it) to watch a video or play with some games, but
if possible, we've found you'll enjoy the time more without interruption
(we've got 5 kids... trust us, we know a little something about
being interrupted.)
Our normal production
time for orders is 4 - 6 weeks (during the Fall, we've
found that it may take a little longer) at which time, we'll
let you know that you have some amazing images ready to be picked
up.
This is just a quick overview
to give you an idea of how we do things here. It's a little different,
but we're okay with that. We're pretty sure you will be too.
A FEW
ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS
When should I
get my senior portraits taken?
That
depends on a couple of things. If you want pretty flowers and green
grass, Winter would not be a very good choice. If you would like to
goof around and maybe even take a little road trip, Winter would be
an excellent time. In our experience, the schedule for September thru
November is INSANE! We will be offering some incentives for sessions
from April thru June. It really just depends on what you're looking
for.
I Hate My Yearbook
Picture, Can You Re-take It?
YEP!
We do have the "drape" for the girls pictures and we have
supplied the yearbook images for a number of our clients. We're currently
talking to a local formal wear store about supplying us with some
tuxes for the guys.
Do You Do Weddings?
Are
you getting married somewhere with sandy beaches and palm trees? With
the age of our children and the current focus of our business, we
have decided not to "do weddings." We will, however, be
accepting a limited number of destination weddings. We are also looking
into offering Bridal Portrait Sessions for those couples who are interested
in something a bit more artistic than the "standing next to the
in-laws" pose. Keep watching for that information.
