I have been approached by several photographers looking for help in getting started both as hobbyists and in the business. I decided to have a one day workshop when we are back in VA. I will be showing how I do my portrait sessions. Both inside and outside, but slow enough to explain why I do what I do and take time for questions. I will cover some basics on lighting (both natural and studio) and some tips on posing. It always helps if you have an understanding of your camera and manual settings, but you won’t have to know that to come and learn along side of what we are doing. My plan is to go from 9-4 and take a 1 hour lunch break that would be on your own (or we can all run out for fast food together and keep talking ) This will be in Hartwood at my parent’s house, where I shoot most of my Virginia senior portraits now. They have 30 acres with woods, fields, gazebos and other cool stuff. I have already had great response and will be limiting the class to the first 10 paid people.
